ring2.0 | a rapid analysis tool for masonry arch bridges

Tailor your model

A significant new feature in ring2.0 is the 'Property Editor', which allows the user to select any object (or group of objects) in the model, view properties and make changes as necessary. This allows local properties to be set (e.g. specify mortar loss in a single joint) and does away with the need to search through long menu lists or to have to remember shortcuts...instead the user can simply click on an object and 'ring the changes'!

Consider all eventualities

Unlike conventional limit analysis methods, ring2.0 will consider all of the following:

  • slip between rings
  • sliding between voussoirs
  • movement of the supports
  • potential compressive failure of the whole cross-section

Use the right loading

ring2.0 comes complete with a comprehensive library of standard road and rail vehicles. Whether you require a European Union 40 tonne, 5-axle rigid truck or an Indian Railways modified broad gauge railway vehicle, all are there to choose from. Should you need to consider a special loading vehicle you can easily define and then add this to the database, where it will then be available for future use:

Produce a full report

After an analysis ring2.0 will automatically generate a full report, which can be edited using the built-in word processor. As well as including an image showing the critical failure mechanism, you can include your company logo and save the file as a pdf:
