We have a policy of issuing free ring2.0 licences for Universities and Academia, but in order to qualify you must send us an official letter on headed paper from your head of department or tutor, confirming that the licensee is a member of staff or student in the department, and that the licence will not be used for commercial purposes.

Upon receipt of a valid application, we generally issue a 10 user LAN (network) license; therefore, it will speed up the process if the steps described in the installation guide for obtaining a network license have been carried out in advance.  If emailling the application, the HOSTID info can be submitted along with the letter.

Please scan your letter as a pdf document and email it to ring@bestech.co.uk, ensuring that the scan is legible and less than 5Mb in size.  You should also attach the HOSTID info file if available (see above).
